Simplicitea! Grandpa style brewing and tea thermoses.
We really really love brewing grandpa style, so we made video to showcase the method and just how to do it. Once you try it, you’ll be really glad you did, as it is one more way to really get to know a tea. Rather than focusing on individual steeps, you allow the tea to remain submersed in water, adding more hot water as you drink.
It’s fun, it’s super easy and it’s a great way to stay hydrated, too.
“But wait, Garret, won’t the tea get really bitter brewed that way? I was told that tea can only steep up to three minutes!” Sure, certain teas will tend toward bitterness, especially when over-leafed or made with water that’s too hot for the style of tea. So you experiment and tweak those variables. Heck, some people learn they enjoy the tea that gets bitter from time to time. Bitter is, after all, the flavor that corresponds to tonifying Heart according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, so bottoms up!
Of course, you don’t have to brew tea grandpa style in our tea thermoses. You can steep your allotted time and then decant into a pitcher or, you can place the leaf in the brewing basket and just remove the basket for each steep and sip right out of your fancy glass or stainless tumbler. So many ways to rock in the tea world.
