Silver Strand
Our 2023 crop of Silver Strand is a true delight for lovers of classic Chinese green tea. Well-balanced sweetness, umami, creamy/buttery and vegetal notes with hints of melon and honeysuckle. While this, like any green tea, can have a propensity toward astringency with longer steeps, we find that the smoothness of the silky mouthfeel makes it quite palatable and enjoyable and love this tea brewed grandpa style!
Watch as the tightly rolled leaves expand during brewing, dancing in the water, the buttery rich aroma making your mouth water, ready to sip. Harvested and processed with great care in early March 2023 in the Yunnan province of China, we are excited to offer this very nice green tea. Enjoy!

Basic Brewing Instructions:
Loose green tea may be given a 10 second rinse with the same temperature water as used for brewing.
160˚-175˚ F water temperature.
Use 1 to 2 tsp per 8oz. of filtered water
Recommended first steeping of 15-20 seconds. Add 15 seconds for each subsequent infusion up to 3 minutes, even longer, up to you.
Tea brewing is meant to be a joyful exploration. There are no hard and fast rules. Experiment with the quantity of tea that you use, and steeping times. Enjoy discovering what your preferences are. They may change day to day.
