We had the fortune of running into some impressive ripened material, super-small batch and oh, so fine! We secured what we could get our hands on and commissioned this ultra-rare pressing. We have named it “Alchemy”. The material was picked in spring of 2021 and then wet-piled/processed into ripe tea in August 2021. The leaf is from a tea garden where no sprays/pesticides are used, far away from any city and is as pure as it gets.

This cake will age incredibly well and develop greatly in complexity in flavor and aroma as the years roll by. The material is from Lao Man’E village in the Bulang mountains where many of our favorite ripe teas are from. The care taken in picking, sorting and processing this leaf is evident in every aspect. It’s creamy and thick with really nice hints of black licorice and molasses and the energy of it is truly engaging and pure. It’s everything we love about ripe pu’er and much more. With strong flavor and dark chocolate notes, this tea will steep over and over again, making this an incredible value. This is true top-shelf ripened tea, folks and we invested mightily in it knowing this one is a winner.
